Position Summary

As a Senior Revenue Cycle Specialist at St. Catherine, you will play a key role in managing resident billing, reimbursement, and accounts receivable processes in a long-term care setting.

You’ll serve as a trusted resource for residents, families, and internal teams by ensuring accurate billing, resolving complex financial issues, and supporting compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and other payer requirements.

Working collaboratively across departments, you’ll help maintain efficient revenue cycle operations while delivering excellent customer service and financial clarity to those we serve.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage billing and accounts receivable for Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, VA, managed care, and other payer sources
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing, payment posting, and account reconciliation
  • Monitor aging reports and proactively resolve unpaid claims, denials, and discrepancies
  • Communicate with residents, families, insurance providers, and agencies regarding billing and account questions
  • Assist residents and families in understanding financial obligations, coverage, and payment options
  • Maintain accurate resident account records in compliance with regulations and policies
  • Collaborate with nursing, admissions, social services, MDS, and finance teams to support reimbursement
  • Research and resolve complex billing, eligibility, and reimbursement issues
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to accounts receivable and collections
  • Stay up to date on Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and payer regulations affecting reimbursement
  • Provide professional, compassionate customer service while maintaining confidentiality

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare billing, revenue cycle, finance, or related field
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, VA billing, or long-term care reimbursement
  • Experience with PointClickCare or similar healthcare systems
  • Knowledge of skilled nursing facility revenue cycle processes

Work Environment

This role is based in a long-term care setting and primarily performed in an office environment. You’ll collaborate closely with internal departments as well as residents and families. The pace can be fast and detail-oriented, requiring strong focus and problem-solving skills.
