Facilities Technician
SMP Health – St. Catherine North | Fargo, ND
SMP Health – St. Catherine North is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician to support building operations, equipment repair, and preventative maintenance in our skilled nursing facility. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance work orders and facility repairs independently
- Perform plumbing, basic electrical, painting, and general maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot and repair resident equipment, including beds, wheelchairs, and walkers
- Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
- Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical system maintenance
- Support room setups, equipment moves, and seasonal maintenance projects
- Maintain compliance with safety, life safety, and regulatory standards
- Help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of facility or building maintenance experience required
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, commercial, industrial, or school facilities preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, and equipment repair
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday
- Day shift (typically 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Occasional after-hours or emergency support as needed
Pay & Benefits
$25.00 – $31.00 per hour
