Facilities Technician

SMP Health – St. Catherine North | Fargo, ND

SMP Health – St. Catherine North is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician to support building operations, equipment repair, and preventative maintenance in our skilled nursing facility. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Complete maintenance work orders and facility repairs independently
  • Perform plumbing, basic electrical, painting, and general maintenance tasks
  • Troubleshoot and repair resident equipment, including beds, wheelchairs, and walkers
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
  • Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical system maintenance
  • Support room setups, equipment moves, and seasonal maintenance projects
  • Maintain compliance with safety, life safety, and regulatory standards
  • Help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of facility or building maintenance experience required
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, commercial, industrial, or school facilities preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, and equipment repair
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday
  • Day shift (typically 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Occasional after-hours or emergency support as needed

Pay & Benefits

$25.00 – $31.00 per hour
